Welcome!

The Port City Playwrights’ Project is a guild of playwrights and screenwriters in the greater Wilmington area of North Carolina.that supports script writers at all levels of development, giving them an opportunity to hone their craft in order to create high-quality work.

To that end, we offer a supportive atmosphere in which playwrights and screenwriters:

  • have their works read and discussed

  • share opportunities for submissions to theatres, producers, and publishers

  • listen to expertise from guest speakers on playwriting and screenwriting

  • become eligible for works to be selected for staged readings and full productions produced by PCPP

  • belong to a guild that actively encourages production organizations to take on award-worthy

  • scripts created locally

PCPP provides a safe place for new work to be presented for feedback, shares production opportunities and hosts occasional guest speakers.

Executive Director: Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D.
Secretary: Matt Malloy

Treasurer: Bill Steadman

Marketing Director: Claudette Cohen

PCPP will incorporate as a nonprofit in the near future.

If you wish to attend the meeting or would like additional information, please email the Executive Director.
